Faculty of Physics

Research data in physics encompass a wide range of information, including raw data generated through experiments, simulations, or theoretical calculations. These data sets, often of large volume and stored in various formats, are crucial to the scientific progress of physics. By analyzing this data, researchers gain new insights into the laws of nature, test existing theories, and develop novel models.

The volume and complexity of research data in physics are constantly increasing, posing new challenges for data storage, archiving, and management. The Faculty of Physics at LMU Munich provides various services and support in research data management to address these challenges.
